Homemade Rasmalai

rasmalai-dessert-milk-paneer-Pakistani-Indian-Summer-

Rasmalai is a dessert common to Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. It consists of soft cheese balls soaked in creamy chilled milk. Rasmalai is also made with homemade cottage cheese known as paneer. The milk in which cheese balls are added is cooked with sugar and cardamom.

This is my mother's recipe for rasmalai this recipe contains balls made from dried milk instead of cottage cheese. The milk is cooked on low heat until reduced to half and then balls are added. Both Rasmalai and Falooda Dessert are my preferred desserts on hot Summer days.

At this point avoid using the spoon instead move the pan back and forth slowly so all the balls are cooked.
